- Antique Ladakh (a region in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir) Women's Belt Ornament with Old Cowrie Shells
- Approx. 27" long
- Materials: Bronze, copper and white copper
- An excellent example of an old bronze belt ornament worn by Ladakhi women. The central feature is a large bronze medallion, upon which strands of old cowrie shells have been strung onto leather. The repoussé work on the piece is very fine; it features an Endless Knot design, which is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism.
