The Story
- Barber Shop Sign, Cameroon #943
- An original barber sign / advertising sign from Cameroon.
- Four men's heads and two women's heads. Painted on plywood 225 x 820 mm. The painter is Tezé from Douala. The plate is unsigned and undated. The last photo shows a fragment of a similar plate by the same painter, signed Tezé DLA '91 (DLA stands for Douala, capital of Cameroon)
- This plate also dates from circa 1990.
- Measurements: 22×82x1 cm
- The board was once broken and repaired on the spot.
- Small restoration at the bottom and restoration at the bottom right corner. See the pictures.
- Origin: bought in 2001 from M. Blömer, buyer of tropical hardwood who bought it in Cameroon from a hairdresser there.
