- A Female Baule Sculpture, Ivory Coast, standing on flattened feet on a round base, beneath short legs with muscular calves, leading to rounded buttocks, a long torso with slightly protruding abdomen beneath sagging, tapering breasts, the open work arms carved close to the body, the large hands frame the protruding navel, strong neck supporting a big ovoid head, a little pout, beneath a slender nose with high arched brows, framed by almond-shaped eyes, small ears, a flat-fitting hairstyle with a braid, large parts of the sculpture covered with scarification patterns; blackened surface with remnants of oxidized oil.
