The Story
- 19th Century Chinese "Irian Jaya Glass" Bead Strand
- Approx. A (30" long), B (31" long)
- Bead Size : A (5mm x 5mm to 8mm x 5mm), B (7mm x 5mm to 8mm x 8mm)
- Originally hand wound in China during the 19th Century (or earlier), these brilliantly colored beads became a popular staple throughout the Asian Trade Bead Routes, and are most famously seen among the Naga People of Burma and North India, as well as Irian Jaya (Western New Guinea, also known as Papua (formerly Irian Jaya) and West Papua), where they acquired their geographically famous nickname.
- These glorious examples shown here were found among the Naga People of Northern India
