The Story
- Lord Ganesha Marble Shrine Figure, India #48
- Measures approx. 4.5" H x 2.75" W x 1.25" D
- Material: marble, lovingly patinated in Devotional Offerings. Traces of original painted details.
- Carved in a very Rural Style, the Figure is gracefully adorned in a folded garment delicately executed by the Artist. Lord Ganesha is sitting on an almost Cubist Style Lotus Blossom.
- Circa 1960's-70's
- Condition: Fair. Heavy wear and use, and some surface erosion. Left Top Hand and Right Bottom Hand are both missing.
- Ganesha is an Elephant-Headed Deity rich with Lore and Legend. The Remover of Obstacles, Lord Ganesha is also considered the Deity of Wisdom and Intellect, as well as the God of Success, Beginnings and New Journeys.
- Ganesha is associated with the Root Chakra at the Base of the Spine, from which the Spiritual Energy Kundalini originates.
- Ganesha may also be entreated to aid in Removing Obstacles to Spiritual Enlightenment, Education and Intellectual Pursuits, Wealth and Advancement in Life.
